Leaf Collection 2019
Below is the information for our Leaf Collection. ---Students also received this same information at school. All due dates are also posted on our classroom calendar page and in our classroom.
Tree/Leaf Identification Project
- Collect and identify 8 different leaves along with a bark rubbing. Press the leaves between the pages of a book to flatten and dry them.
- Using a binder and clear plastic cover sheets, compile a book of your collected leaves.
- Each leaf display must include the following: (this may take 2 pages)
- Common Name
- Scientific Name—includes 2 names, 1st is capitalized, 2nd is lower-case
- Bark rubbing
- Picture of the fruit (sketched from a text or printed from the computer)
- Short description of your leaf—(shape, size), bark—(color), and tree—(height and diameter). Include where it can be found and any other interesting facts you discover. The description must be a minimum of 4 sentences. There will be time to type this during September at school.
