This week we started current events, and we had our first class with Mrs. Wild. We also had our first reading test. We had our first Religion test and our first spelling test. On Friday we had Mass with Father Miller. After Mass, we went to the church basement and celebrated Mary's birth. We had good cupcakes and punch. Then we came back to school and had more cupcakes for Charles's birthday. We had our first phy-ed class with Mrs. Bowe.

It's the first week of school! Not everyone was ready for it though. Most of us are up to date on our religion questions. Pray for Mrs. Wild she still can't teach science for us yet. We have Club's Choice on Friday. We want everyone to buy pizza. It helps the school raise money! Wednesday was our first day of math and science. Phy. Ed. is fun. For the first week we played a game called Rock, Paper, Scissors Tag. Our first assignment was our All About Me posters. Our first math assignment was our Me Cubes. For social studies we wrote a journal about Sergeant Carney, a sergeant in the Civil War we read about. By: Lauren and Avery Our school year is quickly coming to an end. We have been busy this month with field trips and special projects. On May 10, we traveled to La Crosse. While in La Crosse, we visited the La Crosse Diocesan Center, Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Rose Convent and Mary of the Angels Chapel, and Granddad Bluff.
We celebrated Grandparents Day with a Mass that our grandparents attended. After the Mass, everyone was invited to the church basement where snacks were enjoyed by all. After snacks, the we performed some songs, both instrumental and vocal, for the grandparents. It was great to be able to spend time with our loved ones! We also were able to go to CESA 10's Star Lab on May 18. This was a neat way to see the night sky in the middle of the day! This week we are wrapping up our studies, taking tests, preparing projects for the Northern Wisconsin State Fair, and cleaning our classroom. It's been a good year. Alleluia, Christ is risen! We enjoyed a restful Easter Break with our families. Now we are working hard while we are practicing our Forensics pieces. We can't wait to share them with our families and friends on April 27!
We are busy continuing to learn about the parts of the Mass. We have learned about the Introductory Rites and Liturgy of the Word. We are now learning about The Liturgy of the Eucharist. In math Mrs. Bowe keeps us busy. Fifth grade is working with geometry and sixth grade is learning about statistics. In science we are learning about different liquids and their density. We just finished a chapter about the Romans and the beginnings of Christianity in social studies. We are enjoying the warm spring weather and love that today it wasn't raining so we could go outside for recess!
Its the end of the 2nd quarter today. Not everybody is excited to get their report cards though. Our field trip was sadly canceled. Instead of going back to regular school, we got to play all day outside, and Mr. Eslinger brought a portable campfire to cook hot dogs and marshmallows. Since there were leftover hot dogs, on Friday the 5th and 6th graders got hot dogs for lunch. But we are going to the McDonell musical Big in 2 weeks. We are happy we still get another field trip.

We have observed and taught at St. Peter for over one month now, and a lot has happened! We have taught many subjects including spelling, math, science, social studies, and reading/language arts. However, the main focus of the last month was the Christmas Program! We enjoyed watching the students take on their characters, get the dance moves down, and memorize the song lyrics (this includes us as well :-) ). The final performance on Sunday was amazing and we are so proud of our students. We will miss the students and staff a lot after we return to UWEC and are grateful for everything they have taught us, and we hope they feel the same. Thank you for a wonderful experience, St. Peter School!
